Happy Thanksgiving 2008

This year for Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to have Kyle's sister and family come to spend a few days. As you can see from the picture below, they also have a dog, Sadie who came along. Now you have to understand that Brenna absolutely LOVES dogs. She treats Sadie like her baby, tries to take care of her and tell her what to do. I thought this picture says it all. Sadie was laying down for a rest and Brenna covered her up with her own blankie (who she doesn't share with ANYONE), then brought Sadie all the things she should want, Sadie's toys and the ever important gameboy--just in case Sadie felt like playing. (You can see it resting on top of the dog)

Anxiously awaiting the sign that it was time to dig in. We had the usual, turkey, stuffing (a DELICIOUS recipe I found and intend to use for a long time) green beans, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy (still not as good as yours Mom--not even close) rolls, (I cheated and used frozen this year) and green salad. It was all sooooo delicious and thanks to Elaine my niece who helped me so much in the kitchen. We had a great time. No pictures unfortunately but we had Apple pie, pumpkin pie and a fluffy pumpkin pie for dessert. Ice cream and whipped cream included. BTW--did you notice how nicely we all fit around our new table?

Uncle Garen was so nice to deal with the "aftermath" of the meal. Two dishwasher loads and lots of handwashing later, it was all cleaned up.

Lots of boy time. It was hard to capture laser tag and dart tag but here they are enjoying a game of Axis and Allies.
